What is single phase supply and three phase supply?

Difference between single phase and three phase power supply The AC power (alternating current) is a kind of electricity where there is frequent change in the current flow direction. At the beginning of the 1900 year, AC power supply is used for businesses as well as homes and now it got expanded to. The system of the power supply is categorized into two type's namely single phase power supply, as well as 3 phase power supply. For most industrial and business settings, three-phase supply is used to run the high loads, whereas homes are generally supplied by a 1 phase power supply, because hom eappliances require less power. This article discusses the difference between single phase and three phase power supplies and how to know either single phase or three phase. What is Phase in Electricity? Generally, the phase-in electricity is the current or the voltage among an existing wire as well as a neutral cable. Phase means the distribution of load, if a single wire is used, an additi

Why ammeter connected in series and voltmeter connected in parallel?

Ammeter:  In series connection, the same current flows through all the components. Ammeter aims at measuring the current flowing through the circuit and hence, it is connected in series: so that the same current that is there in the circuit flows through it and gets measured. Ammeter has a low resistance, because we do not want to change the current that is flowing through the circuit. Voltmeter:   Voltmeter measures voltage change between two points in a circuit. So u have to place the meter probes at these two points, without removing the portion of circuit between the probes (or else you change the circuit). This then, by definition, places the voltmeter in parallel with the section of circuit between the probes. When you place the meter probes at the two points you want to measure, a tiny portion of the current in the circuit will now go thru the meter and give you a reading. We make the voltmeter a very high resistance instrument. So when the current splits into the meter the hig

What is voltage and current?

What is Voltage and Current What is Electric Current ? An electric current is a flow of electric charge in a circuit. More specifically, the electric current is the rate of charge flow past a given point in an electric circuit. The charge can be negatively charged electrons or positive charge carriers including protons, positive ions or holes. The basic concept of current is that it is the movement of electrons within a substance. a electrons are minute particles that exist as part of the molecular structure of materials. Sometimes these electrons are held tightly within the molecules and other times they are held loosely and they are able to move around the structure relatively freely. One very important point to note about the electrons is that they are charged particles - they carry a negative charge. If they move then an amount of charge moves and this is called current. It is also worth noting that the number of electrons that able to move governs the ability of a particular subst
